Rimac - A Visionary's Dream

Mate Rimac, a passionate car enthusiast, founded Rimac Automobili with the vision of creating electric vehicles that challenge traditional notions of speed and performance. Born in 1988 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Rimac's journey into the automotive industry began when he converted his own gas-powered BMW into an electric vehicle. This led to the establishment of Rimac Automobili, headquartered in Sveta Nedelja, Croatia.

Rimac Automobili gained recognition with the Concept_One, an electric hypercar unveiled in 2011. The car's impressive performance, boasting 1,088 horsepower and a top speed of 220 mph, showcased Rimac's commitment to pushing the boundaries of electric mobility. Over the years, Rimac continued to refine its technology and expand its portfolio, solidifying its position as a leader in the EV space.

Bugatti Rimac Alliance

In July 2021, automotive history was made when Rimac and Bugatti joined forces to create a new company known as Bugatti Rimac. The partnership marked a significant milestone for both brands, bringing together Rimac's expertise in electric powertrains and Bugatti's legacy of crafting some of the fastest and most luxurious combustion engine hypercars.

Bugatti, the renowned French manufacturer of high-performance automobiles, had undergone various ownership changes over the years. At the time of the collaboration, the luxury brand was under the ownership of the Volkswagen Group. The fusion of Rimac and Bugatti created a powerful alliance, combining Rimac's electric propulsion systems with Bugatti's legacy of crafting extraordinary hypercars.

The merger resulted in the formation of Bugatti Rimac, with Mate Rimac retaining a controlling stake in the company. This collaboration aimed to leverage the strengths of both brands to develop high-performance electric vehicles that would redefine the limits of speed and luxury.
